Concevoir un Marque Page
On peut broder les marque-pages sur des toiles, puis couper, mais pensez aussi à utiliser les galons à broder qu'on trouve tout prêts dans le commerce, ils sont si simples d'emploi ! Il en existe de différentes couleurs, avec des bordures colorées ou non, et de différentes largeurs...
Il existe plusieurs types de finitions pour les marque-pages :
La plus classique : en collant un bristol au dos de votre ouvrage brodé. Faites un petit ourlet avant de fixer le bristol. Cette méthode a, selon moi, le défaut de ne pas permettre de laver le marque-page en cas de besoin.
Vous pouvez aussi coller au dos un morceau de viseline thermocollante très fine (en mercerie) de la même couleur que votre toile, et coupée aux mêmes dimensions. La viseline résiste ensuite très bien au lavage.
Vous pouvez également créer des marque-pages recto-verso avec deux motifs de même format brodés sur une toile fine. Après avoir coupé aux mêmes dimensions les deux parties, les deux motifs (recto et verso) se cousent dos à dos par un point de feston tout autour, à au moins 2 points du bord pour que ce point de feston ne se défasse pas par effilochage. N'oubliez pas de glisser entre les parties un petit morceau de toile de la même couleur pour éviter les effets de transparence.
Il est aussi possible de faire un marque-page très fin, pas plus épais qu'un marque-page classique en bristol. Pour cela, choisissez une toile assez fine en épaisseur, et brodez-la normalement, en soignant particulièrement l'envers qui restera visible. Quand vous avez fini, découpez votre toile à la dimension définitive du marque page, et effrangez soigneusement les bords sur quelques rangs, ou faites des jolis jours (comme sur les nappes ou les serviettes). Puis posez votre marque-page sur une surface plastique bien plate. Passez doucement au pinceau de la colle à puzzle (diluée 4 à 8 fois dans son volume d'eau) dessus. Laissez sécher jusqu'au lendemain. Cette technique permet d'obtenir des marque-pages assez rigides, très fins, qui ne s'effilochent pas sur les bords. Pour ces raisons, cette méthode a nettement ma préférence, mais il faut reconnaître qu'on y perd le toucher doux de la toile et des fils....
